On Monday 9th October we celebrated our Patron’s Feast Day. To celebrate all year groups will this week focus on the life of SJHN and how he can help shape us, as our Patron. Each year group will receive an assembly from Mrs McNee on what a Patron is and why ours is so important. Years 8-10 paused their learning on Monday morning to learn and reflect about SJHN’s life and their lives. Year 11 will discuss a famous SJHN quote each morning in form time and think about how it is important to them right now. Finally Year 7 will have an internal retreat in our MPH with the amazing Just Youth, focusing on Mission and SJHN’s “I have my mission”. As well as this we are holding a charity appeal of ‘One person, one tin’ to raise as many tins for Oldham Foodbank as we can. This is a reminder that we definitely are all “a link in a chain”. Saint John Henry Newman is a role model of our values of love, service, courage and dignity and on our Feast Day our children were definitely role models of these values too! A very exciting and spiritual day for al!
