Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
The Governing Body of Saint John Henry Newman Roman Catholic College and the Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust would like to express our sincere gratitude and heartfelt farewell to Mr Potts as he embarks on his next chapter.
His leadership and dedication to our school community have been truly invaluable, and we are deeply appreciative of everything he has done during his time as Headteacher, and especially during the many challenges he has been presented with along the way, such as the Coronavirus, ongoing building failures, and the complexities of the academisation process. His unwavering commitment to improving student outcomes means the college is now in a stronger position. It would take too long to list all his achievements, but results have improved, student enrichment opportunities are second to none and we have taken delivery of new vehicles and new buildings.
We have been consistently impressed by his vision, leadership, and dedication, and we are grateful for the positive impact he has had on our school, our students, and our staff. His commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and supporting staff has been exemplary.
As he moves forward, we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours. We know he will continue to make a positive difference to the lives of young people, and we will always value his contributions to Newman College.
Wishing both him and his family a happy and fulfilling journey as they move to the next chapter.
Yours sincerely
Mr J Cassin Mr Daniel Copley
Chair of Governors CSEL/CEO Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust
