GCSE Results 2024: Celebrating Success

Newman College is proud to announce and share in celebrating with students this year’s GCSE results achievements.  The results, which continue to build on improvement, are testament to the courage and dedication shown by students and staff throughout the year and the always tough exam season, and we would like to congratulate all involved.

Photograph: Zilang Su, Zunaira Kayani, Tuguldur Richindavva, Adittya Paul, Ellie Robson and Mia Canny achieved an incredible 49 Grade 8s and 9s between them to be some of Newman’s highest attaining students this year.


Pictured above, Zilang Su achieved an amazing eleven Grade 8s and 9s and intends to study Biology, Chemistry and Maths.  Zilang wanted to say, “Newman College has been an incredible stepping stone for my life.  I owe it to the exceptionally kind teachers”.  Also pictured above, Zunaira Kayani achieved nine Grade 8s and 9s and intends to study Biology, Chemistry and Psychology.  Zunaira said proudly “I am so happy with my grades, and it was definitely only possible with the hard work of me and my teachers”.  Head Student Mia Canny pictured above achieved five Grade 8s and 9s intends to study History, Law, English and Sociology, said “I am chuffed with my grades, my hard work paid off.  I couldn’t have done it without my teachers... I will miss you all!”.  Pictured below, Peggy Andrews, one of Newmans top achieving students for progress said “My biggest goal in life is to be the best I can be in all of my subjects and in my future career.  Hopefully I can now become a radiologist and change the world”.

This year has seen a full return to pre-2019 grades and grade boundaries.  The outcomes once again demonstrate Newman’s commitment to academic excellence for all in an environment of love and service fostered by staff.  We take great pride in our students’ achievements this year.  As always, we will continue to grow and improve, investing in teaching, driving developments in our curriculum and teaching and learning, and push students to achieve their potential.
