In Art we develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding using a wide range of skills, materials and techniques. We encourage pupils’ to confidently reflect on their own ideas, culture, environment and the work of others in order to create a unique and personal response in a variety of drawing, painting, printing, relief, 3D, clay and digital media.
We aim to inspire pupils’ to think independently and work creatively, as well as problem solve in the process of creating a series of outcomes with their chosen artist and techniques.

Careers in Art and Design.
Careers in Art and Design are diverse, the government estimates that 2.4 million people are employed in the creative industries and make a significant contribution to the UK economy. Study of GCSE Art and Design helps develop fine motor skills, problem-solving, lateral and critical thinking skills and will lay the foundation for further specialism and education in this sector.
Careers include architecture, fashion design, advertising, graphic and game design, media make-up and floristry to name a few. Art and maths are a good combination for design careers such as architecture, car design or engineering. Many art and design careers also include a business component, such as marketing or sales.
